Lynn Kovacs
My name is Lynn Kovacs. I have dabbled in several art mediums over the years including watercolors, fused glass, and metal work. I started beading 25+ years ago gaining inspiration and new friendships along the way.I continue to learn about the history of beads and the roles they play in the culture of many countries around the world. The weaving capabilities of certain stitches fascinate me -small containers, woven bracelets, bead embroidery. During the pandemic, I spent my days making sun catchers and jewelry and sent them to family and friends around the country so that I could make more.I make bracelets and necklaces using beads from around the world. Each piece contains beads made with glass, metals, natural and semi-precious stones, wood, seeds and/or bone. A card comes with each piece explaining the countries of origin of the beads as well as identified healing or strengthening qualities of the stones. No two items are identical. Custom orders are accepted.Shops in Port Townsend, Canby, and Wilsonville have sold my bracelets and sun catchers. Now I am back to making and selling jewelry and recently participated in a sale sponsored by a philanthropic organization.
