Leslie Sosna
Working in fused glass allows me to paint with light itself. I am continually inspired by the poetry of nature — blooming flowers, the ever-changing movement of the sea and the life that inhabits it. These elements form the heart of my work.Bold, expressive color is central to my process. I am drawn to vivid contrasts and saturated hues that reflect the brilliance of petals in full bloom and the deep blues, teals, and aquas of coastal waters. Through layering and kiln-fusing techniques, I build depth and motion within the glass, allowing each piece to transform as light passes through it. Light is not simply a feature of display — it is an active collaborator, illuminating intricate details and shifting the mood of the work throughout the day. While much of my work captures the beauty and rhythm of nature, I also embrace whimsy when the mood strikes. Playful forms, unexpected color combinations, and imaginative details emerge organically in my designs, inviting viewers to pause, smile, and reconnect with a sense of wonder.Glass is both fragile and resilient — a paradox that mirrors nature itself. Through my art, I strive to celebrate color, movement, and light, creating pieces that feel vibrant, uplifting, and alive in their surroundings.I am a returning member of TRAG, and my work has been exhibited at Imperfecta Art Gallery. These affiliations and exhibitions have provided meaningful opportunities to share my passion for fused glass and connect with a wider artistic community.
