I’m clay artist that have been playing in this medium on and off since high school. I hand build exclusively and sometimes work mixed materals into into the pieces.
I find something primal and satisfying about taking mud from the earth and making something out of it, putting a piece of myself into each one. I love all stages of the process but when someone buys a piece or I give it away it goes off and has a life of it’s own. I think that’s my favorite part because I work in a bubble and to see someone happily taking it into their prossesion and connecting with that person thru something I made is the best feeling.
I was a member of a art gallery in the Santa Cruz Mountains for years and have participated in numerous shows.
I moved to Milwaukie about 4 years ago and are now dipping my toes into your art scene, otherwise the stuff just gathers around you.
